Purpose-Led Design at Four & Five Park Place

Reimagining Shared Spaces to Support Modern Working Life

The newly completed reception and end-of-trip fit out at Four & Five Park Place marks a significant milestone in the ongoing evolution of the Park Place campus. Designed to enhance the daily experience of occupants, these new communal spaces reflect Clancourt’s commitment to delivering high-quality, user-focused environments that stand the test of time.

More than a refresh, this project was a deliberate investment in comfort, function and wellbeing. It continues Clancourt’s long-standing approach to maintaining and improving its buildings for the long term.

Supporting the Experience from the Moment You Arrive

The design brief was clear from the outset: to create an arrival experience that feels calm, intuitive and premium, while ensuring the practical needs of occupants were prioritised. To achieve this, Clancourt partnered with interior architecture and design studio Grove & Co., who led the transformation of both the reception and end-of-trip facilities.

“The reception functions as a true first impression space,” says Grove & Co. “We designed it to be refined, confident, and responsive to the flow of daily users. With carefully considered sightlines, tactile materiality and intuitive circulation, the space sets the tone for a building that is elegant yet efficient.”

Lighting, acoustics and zoning were all carefully calibrated to ensure atmosphere never came at the expense of usability. Attention to detail runs throughout the design, from integrated signage to concealed services, all working quietly in the background to support clarity and comfort.

A Higher Standard of End-of-Trip Facilities

Supporting active commuting and employee wellbeing was a core objective of the fit out. The result is a 5-star hotel standard end-of-trip space, complete with 25 showers, 268 lockers and secure bicycle parking. These facilities were designed to be robust yet refined, with finishes, layout and lighting all chosen to create a sense of ease and comfort at the start and end of each day.

“Understanding the client’s operational brief, we embedded comfort and utility into every layer of the design,” Grove & Co. notes. “The spaces are practical and durable, but still feel considered.”

Materiality with Meaning

Across the project, the design language is consistent and cohesive. It aligns with the wider Park Place aesthetic while setting a new benchmark in quality. A curated blend of warm timber, natural stone, sandblasted glass and architectural metalwork defines the palette, with bespoke furniture, joinery and lighting all designed in-house to suit the rhythm of the space.

Standout features include a monolithic art piece referencing the nearby Iveagh Gardens, integrated biophilic elements, and abundant natural light management that further supports the wellbeing of occupants.

A Seamless Campus Experience

As part of the broader Park Place repositioning, it was important that these new spaces felt fully integrated rather than added on. Wayfinding, materials and spatial flow were all designed to create continuity across the campus and ensure a consistent experience for all building users.

“We believe commercial spaces should work harder for the people who use them,” says Grove & Co. “At Park Place, our aim was to create reception and amenity spaces that feel both high-performing and human. Places where comfort, clarity and craft come together to elevate the workday experience.”

Built for the Long Term

This project reflects Clancourt’s ongoing commitment to long-term thinking. It is an investment in buildings not just to maintain them, but to meaningfully improve them for the people and companies who occupy them. At Four & Five Park Place, that philosophy is brought to life through thoughtful design, quality materials and an unwavering focus on occupant experience.
