Designing for Longevity : How Grove & Co Delivered Sustainable Impact at Four & Five Park Place
At Clancourt, long-term thinking is at the heart of every project.
Our recent fit out at Four & Five Park Place, delivered in collaboration with Grove & Co, reflects that commitment, not only in the quality of the design, but in the environmental performance of the materials, layout, and day-to-day functionality of the spaces.
This project was designed to serve the people who use it, while also reducing its environmental impact across its full life cycle. From the selection of certified finishes to the integration of active commuting facilities, every decision was made with both sustainability and longevity in mind.
Responsible Material Choices
The reception and end-of-trip spaces were designed using materials that balance aesthetics, durability and environmental credentials. Wherever possible, Grove & Co specified products with low embodied carbon and transparent sustainability standards.
Key finishes included:
FSC-certified timber throughout all joinery and timber detailing
Cradle-to-Cradle certified upholstery and fabrics
Low-VOC paints to support air quality and occupant wellbeing
Recycled content carpets with proven wear resistance
Locally manufactured joinery to reduce transport emissions
Grove & Co also selected suppliers with circular economy commitments, ensuring that materials can be repaired, refurbished or recycled at the end of their life, helping to minimise waste over the long term.
Sourcing with Purpose
Each product and finish was chosen not only for its visual quality, but for its performance and environmental integrity. The shower and reception areas incorporate high-spec materials from brands that meet international sustainability benchmarks:
Kronos Ceramiche shower tiles, produced under ISO 14001-certified environmental management systems and compliant with multiple LEED categories
Marazzi Group wall tiles, made from recycled and Red List Free materials, with GREENGUARD GOLD certification for indoor air quality
Miliken carpet tiles, offering transparency in material use, Gold-level VOC emission ratings, and a roadmap to Net Zero by 2030
Monto Group microcement finishes, which carry Environmental Product Declarations and meet LEED, BREEAM and VERDE standards
Supporting Active and Healthy Working
The sustainability approach extended well beyond material selection. The layout and facilities were also designed to support wellbeing, productivity and low-impact commuting.
Occupants benefit from:
Generous natural light and careful air flow planning, to support mental and physical wellness
Secure bicycle storage and dedicated shower and changing areas, encouraging active commuting
Ergonomic design elements and quiet zones that enhance comfort and focus throughout the workday
These features align with WELL design principles and contribute to a healthier, more resilient workplace for the long term.
